About UsGanesha Bookshop was established in 1986 as a small family business by Ketut Yuliarsa and his wife Anita Scheeres. Ketut Yuliarsa is a well known writer and actor/musician in Bali and together with Anita had the desire to see a bookshop in Bali that would cater to the needs of all the avid readers, collectors and researchers who passed through Ubud, Bali. They began the bookshop with their own precious collection of books and traded as a second hand outlet. Over the years the shop grew extensively and now houses a vast second hand books section which includes antiquarian books on Bali and Indonesia. As the shop grew they added lots of new books on Indonesia in the areas of language, literature, cooking, arts and culture. We are conveniently located near the Ubud Post Office. We suggest you print out a copy of the map below and bring it with you on your trip to Bali. In January 2009 Ganesha Bookshop opened another outlet in the south of the island, Ganesha@Biku Jalan Petitenget 888, Kerobokan.. We are very happy to have an outlet in this beautiful Tea Room/Restaurant. Biku is a very different type of restaurant. It is a wonderful 150 year old Joglo that has been refurbished and fitted out with antiques and large leather reading lounges. It is the perfect place to rest, read, eat and drink. We have a fine selection of new, used, out-of-print, antiquarian and rare books on Indonesia. Also, a range of handmade cards and gifts, daily newspaper and magazines from around the world We welcome Book Club meetings, Book Launches and Discussion Groups. Please come in and meet the staff, peruse the bookshelves and enjoy the atmosphere. LocationWe are conveniently located near the Ubud Post Office.
